Exercise 1
प्राचीन काल में खुंदमीर नामक एक राजा था। वह पहले एक वीर योद्धा था लेकिन अब वह निर्बल और बूढ़ा हो गया था। ईश्वर की कृपा से बुढ़ापे में उसके यहां एक पुत्र जन्मा। उसके सौंदर्य के कारण उसने उसका नाम अजीब रखा। बच्चे को उसने अपनी नौकरानी क सौंप दिया और उन्होंने उसको सात वर्ष की अवस्था तक पालन किया। तब उसके पिता ने उसको अपने धर्म के एक पुरोहित की देखरेख में रख दिया। पुरोहित ने उसे अपने धर्म के सिद्धांत सिखाए तथा उसे अन्य विद्याएं सिखाई। तीन वर्ष के अंदर युवा विद्वान हो गया। वह अच्छा भाषण करने में सफल हो गया। जब वह बीस वर्ष का हुआ तब वह अपनी उम्र के सभी युवकों से गुणों के आधार पर आगे हो गया।
English Translation
In ancient times, there was a king, named kundmeer. Formerly, he has a brave warrior but presently, he become weak and old. By god's grace, a son was born to him in his old age. Due to his fairness (handsomeness) he named his Ajeeb. He handed over the child to his maid servants and they bought him up to the age of seven. Then his father put him in the guidance of the priest of his own religion. The priest thought him the principles of his religion and taught him other skills. Within three years, he became in intellect one and was worthy of delivering a nice speech. We when he was twenty, he grew forward of all youngs of his age in skills or abilities.

हमारे देश की जनसंख्या तेजी से बढ़ रही है। परिरामस्वरूप हमारे देश की प्रगति एवं समृद्धि को एक संकट उत्पन्न हो गया है। एक और तो प्रति मिनट एक बच्चे का जन्म हो रहा है। दूसरी ओर देश में जो स्वास्थ्य योजनाएं चल रही हैं उनसे मृत्यु दर घट रही है। पहले प्रत्येक भारतीय की औसत आयु 23 वर्ष थी। किंतु अब 60 वर्ष हो गई है। आगे संभावना है कि ज्यो-त्यों योजनाएं विकसित होती जाएंगी, औसत आयु बढ़ती जाएगी और 10 वर्षों में औसत आयु 60-65 वर्ष हो जाएगी। इसका मतलब है की औसत आयु दोगुनी बढ़ जाएगी। इसके अनुपात में मृत्यु दर कम नहीं हुई है। अतः जनसंख्या तीव्र गति से अविराम रूप से बढ़ रही है। जब तक जन्म दर तथा मृत्यु दर का सामंजस्य नहीं होगा, जनसंख्या बढ़ने को रोकना असंभव होगा।
English Translation
The population of our country is increasing by lips and bounds. Consequently, a great crisis has risen to the progress and the prosperity of the country. On one hand, one child is being born every one minute. On the other hand, the death-rate is not decreasing due to the health plannings which are going on in our country. Formerly, every Indian's average age was 20 but now it has become 60 years. Further, it is possible that as soon as, the plannings develop, the average age will go on increasing and the average age will grow to 65 to 70. It means, the average age would be just doubled. In its comparison, the death rate is not minimized. As a result, the population is increasing on stopped and rapidly. Unless, there is adjustment between the birth rate and death rate, the population will go on increasing rapidly.
Exercise 3
आजकल फैशन जोरों पर है। लड़कियों को तो कहना की क्या है, लड़के भी बढ़िया कपड़े पहनकर इधर-उधर मटरगस्ती करते दिखाई देते हैं। प्रत्येक युवक अमीर हो या गरीब, अच्छे ढंग से जीना चाहता है। यदि तुम किसी होटल या सिनेमा में जाओ तो देखोगे की प्रत्येक व्यक्ति अमीरों की तरह डींगे मारता है या राजकुमारों की तरह व्यहार करता है। जेब खाली है लेकिन हाथ में सिगरेट होगी। ऐसे युवक कर्ज में फस जाते हैं। जहाँ तक संभव हो, अपनी अनावश्यक आवश्यकतायें काम करो। यदि किसी की आवश्यकताएं असीमित होंगी तो वह अनुचित साधनो से धन कमाने को बाध्य होगा।
English Translation
Now-a-day, fashion is in vogue. What to say the girls, boys also, wearing fine dresses, are seen loitering to and fro. Every young man, either rich or poor, derives to live very well. If you go to some hotel or cinema, you will see every young man boasting (speaking high) and behaving like a prince. The pocket is empty, but has cigarette in his hand. This type of young men become indebted to others. Decrease your wants as for as possible. If one has one's unlimited wants, he would be compelled to earn money by fair or foul means.
Exercise 4
हमारा देश महान है। शताब्दियों तक हमारा इतिहास गौरवपूर्ण रहा है। केवल पूर्व के देश ही नहीं बल्कि पश्चिम के समस्त देश भी प्राचीन सभ्यता एवं संस्कृत की छाप लिए हुए है। हमारे दर्शन और साहित्य ने पश्चिमी जीवन धारा को काफी प्रभावित किया है। आज हम उन्नति के दौड़ में अग्रसर होने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। हम सबका कर्तव्य है कि देश की सेवा में सब कुछ न्योछावर कर दें। हमें जाति, धर्म और प्रान्तीयता के भेदों को भूल जाना चाहिए। हमे याद रखना चाहिए की यदि हमारे देश की उन्नति होगी तो हमारा भविष्य भी शानदार होगा।

Ours is a great country. The history of our country has been very glorious for centuries. Not only the eastern countries have the imprints of our ancient civilization and culture. The philosophy and literature of our country has influenced enough the life-current of the west. Today, we are making efforts to advance forward. It is duty of all of us we must sacrifice, what we have in the service of our country. We must remember that if our country makes improvement, our future will be glorious and grandeurous.

छात्रों के जीवन में मध्यान्ह (मध्यांतर) का समय बड़े आनंद का होता है, जैसे की वे उस समय में मानसिक, शारीरिक राहत प्राप्त करते हैं और बंधन मुक्त महसूस करते हैं। कोई भी छात्र यहाँ-वहाँ घूमता है तथा मिलकर बातें करता है तथा गप्पे मारता है। जैसे ही मध्यांतर की घण्टी बजती है, छात्र अपने-अपनी कक्षाओं से इस प्रकार बाहर आते हैं मानों वे जेल से छोड़े जा रहे हों। अधिकांश छात्र अपने घरो से लाये गये लंच बॉक्स को खोलते हैं और खाते हैं। कुछ छात्र, विशेष धनि परिवार के छात्र स्कूल की खाने-पीने की दूकान पर जाते हैं और मनचाही वस्तु खाते पीते हैं। कुछ सिकी हुई रोटी और बिस्कुट लेते हैं। अध्यापक भी मध्यान्तर काल का मजा नाश्ता करके तथा तत्कालीन सामाजिक तथा राजनैतिक प्रकरणों पर बातें करके लेते हैं।

The richest period is enjoying in the life of students as it is a period of mental relief physical relief and freedom. During this period the student remains free from mental tension and worries. One wonders here and there about the school and makes chatting and gossiping. As soon as the bell rings, students come out of their classes and rush in such a way as they have been released from jail. The majority of students take their lunch and which they bring from their homes in their lunch boxes. Some students, mostly reach one's of them go to tuck shop and eat and drink what they wish. A few of them take baked bread and biscuits. The teachers too get the joy of recess period by taking their lunch or talking about the current social and political topics.

यह सभी जानते की जब-जब हमारे लोगों अथवा शाशको ने सहिष्णुता के स्थान पर धर्मान्धता का मार्ग चुना तभी जीवन के प्रत्येक क्षेत्र में हमारा पतन हुआ। अब भी हमको अपने इतिहास से सबक लेना चाहिए। यह जानते हुए की परस्पर मतभेद से हम कमजोर होते हैं, हमे कोई ऐसा काम नहीं करना चाहिए जिससे हमारे लोगों में दुर्भावना उत्पन्न हो। भले ही हमारे देश में विभिन्न बोलियाँ बोली जाती हैं और विभिन्न धर्म व रीति-रिवाज पाये जाते हों, हमारे समूचे देश की जीवनचर्या में काफी समानता है। विविधता के वावजूद हमारे देश में एक गहन एकता अंतिर्नित है। हमें अपने विचारों व् कार्यों द्वारा इसी एकता की भावना को पुष्ट करने की चेष्टा करनी है।

It is known to everybody that whenever our people of rulers chose the path of fanaticism in the place of tolerance, there was decline in every walk of our life. Even now, we should take a lesson from our history. Knowing this that mutual dissensions make us week, we should not do any such things as might give rise to ill-will among our people. Different languages may be spoken in our country and different religions and social customs may be observed, there is a great similarity in the life routine of the people in the whole country. Despite diversity there is a deep unity latent in our country. We have to try to strengthen this feeling of unity by your thoughts and actions.

हमारे वैज्ञानिक समक्ष, परमाणु ऊर्जा के उपयुक्त प्रयोग की एक बड़ी चुनौती है। इसका प्रयोग बेहतर स्वास्थ्य तथा अन्य लाभकारी उद्देश्यों के लिए किया जाना चाहिए। वे तलवारों को किसानों के हलों के रूप में बदल देने का सपना देख रहे हैं। कोयला और विद्युत संसाधनों से किया गया उत्पादन, परमाणु शक्ति द्वारा किए गए उत्पादन का मुकाबला नहीं कर सकता है। परमाणु ऊर्जा का प्रयोग कोयला तथा विद्युत एवं पेट्रोलियम की कमी की क्षति को पूरा करेगी। जलयान भी परमाणु शक्ति से चलेंगे। हवाई जहाज भी इसी शक्ति से चलेंगे। रेलगाड़िया भी इसी ऊर्जा से दौड़ाई जाएंगी। यदि रॉकेट्स को भी परमाणु ऊर्जा से चलाया जाता है तो यह नए नक्षत्रों के मध्य आसानी से यात्रा कर सकते हैं।

It is a great challenge before our scientist that they should make a proper use of atomic energy. It should be used for better health and other beneficial purposes. They are dreaming a vision after running swords into plug shares. With the power of coal and electricity cannot pace with the production made with the atomic power. The use of the atomic power will compensate the shortage of coal and electricity and petroleum. Ships will be driving with the help of atomic power. Aeroplanes will fly and the railways carriage will meet run with the help of atomic power. If rockets are made run with the help of atomic energy, they will travel among the planets easily.
